Two Essays Published as Part of the Erasmus+ Essays Beyond Borders Project

The Essays Across Borders project, part of the Erasmus+ programme, continues to yield meaningful results through its international essay-writing workshops. Organised in collaboration with the Universities of Malta, Ghent, Groningen, and Pisa, the workshops provide a platform for participants to engage critically and creatively with the essay form.

This year, following a new round of applications, a series of free essay workshops was launched in March by the Slovenian Writers’ Association. The workshops are led by acclaimed writer, editor, and professor Andrej Blatnik, in partnership with a number of experienced writing professionals.

The project recently reached a significant milestone with the publication of two essays developed within the workshop framework. Ana Svetel’s Essay about Oblivion appeared in the online literary journal LUD Literatura, while Maša Jelušič’s Apocalypse of the Popular Fruit: Bananas Will Disappear from Store Shelves was published in Sobotna priloga, the Saturday supplement of Delo, one of Slovenia’s leading newspapers.

These publications mark a notable achievement for both the authors and the project as a whole, demonstrating the impact of collaborative, transnational literary engagement. Congratulations are extended to the authors and to Professor Blatnik for their excellent work.
