Roberta Ferrari

Roberta Ferrari is Professor of English Literature at Pisa University.

Ferrari is Head of the  Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics. Her research interests range from 18th-century literature to Modernism and Postmodernism. She has published volumes and essays on the beginnings of female professional writing, the rise of the novel, Gothic fiction, the Romantic essay, intertextuality in contemporary narrative and drama.  

She has also devoted specific attention to the study of travel literature and to Anglo-Italian cultural relations.  Her works include Ian McEwan (2012), A Language of One’s Own (2016, co-edited with S. Bruti), Interconnecting Music and the Literary Word (2018, co-edited with F. Ciompi and L. Giovannelli). She has recently published a volume on Walter Savage Landor and Italy (2022).
