The Planetary Essay Conference and Easter School in Pisa in 2026

One of the main events in the Essays Beyond Borders project will be a Conference on the Planetary Essay to be held in Pisa in April 2026. The conference will bring together researchers, students and writers to discuss and exchange knowledge about as well as practise writing the essay.

The focus of the 4-day event will be on the essay and the planetary as a central theme, showing, among other things, how the essay can be a tool for the raising of awareness and the distribution of knowledge about nature, place and the environment.

The conference will provide common spaces for participants to create, learn and translate together, thus strengthening collaborative ties across geo-political boundaries.
